"Legacy Threads" Mural Launch Celebration at Danbury Fair, April 24

Danbury Fair and The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut are thrilled to unveil a bold new addition to the local arts scene with the launch of “Legacy Threads” — a vibrant mural honoring the rich history and dynamic future of Danbury Fair. The celebration will take place at 7 Backus Ave., Danbury, CT, with a special launch event open to the public.

Guests of all ages are invited to take part in this unique celebration of art, community, and local heritage. The first 50 attendees will receive exclusive swag bags, and children will receive a special coin for a free carousel ride — a nod to the nostalgia of classic fairgrounds. Guests can also enjoycomplimentary light bites with a festive fair food flair, perfect for a spring evening of fun.

The new mural, themed “Legacy Threads,” was brought to life by ArtEtc, a team of talented artists and designers led by art production specialist Marshall Okin and illustrator Rebecca Pry. The design pays homage to the iconic Danbury Fair of the past while weaving in a contemporary and uplifting aestheticthat reflects the community’s growth and evolving identity.

“We are honored to be selected for this project,” said Okin. “Our team is excited to bring our uniquevision to life, celebrating the legacy of Danbury Fair while creating a vibrant and engaging piece of art forthe community.”

This mural represents the second large-scale art installation at Danbury Fair, underscoring the commitment of Danbury Fair and Macerich Corporation to supporting the arts and cultivating a vibrant cultural environment for visitors.
